Our Story
Discovering the hidden history, vibrant culture, and fresh air of the Pacific Northwest.
Breathe In Seattle started with a simple mission: to tell the unique stories of our city's streets, architecture, and communities through engaging, immersive walking tours. We believe that to truly experience the Emerald City, you have to step off the standard tourist transit lines and hit the pavement where history actually happened.
From our native Coast Salish roots and the foundational logging eras to the creative musical explosions and modern tech evolutions, our routes connect you to the living, breathing soul of Seattle. Guided by passionate local expertise, we focus on small-group, zero-fluff deep dives that leave both first-time visitors and long-time locals with a profound appreciation for our home.
What Makes Us Special...
đ Intentionally Engineered Routes
We love our city, but we know its terrain. Our routes are carefully planned to bypass massive, punishing inclines so you can focus on the stories, architectural feats, and sights comfortably.
đž Truly Community Inclusive
We don't leave family members behind. Our walks are built to welcome well-behaved furry companions, fostering a uniquely relaxed and friendly small-group social dynamic.
â Authentic Community Hubs
Instead of generic modern transit terminals, our meeting spots highlight exceptional local landmarksâlike NEKO Cat Cafe and KEXPâgiving you a taste of local culture from minute one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I Need to be in "Good Shape"?
Tours range up to 4 miles long with built-in rest and bathroom breaks. The unique routes we'll be taking have been designed specifically to avoid Seattle's steep hills and endless stepsâwe'll mostly be walking on level ground or moving downhill. Folks of all ages have successfully joined us on these walks; it is truly more about your individual comfort level with moving over the course of the tour. If you're not sure where you stand physically or have any concerns, please get in touch before booking.
What's Your Refund Policy?
Please make sure to arrive on time! Full refunds are provided to guests who cancel with at least 48 hours notice. We do not give refunds for cancellations made within that 48-hour window.
There is a strict 15-minute grace period for guests running late. If you are more than 15 minutes late, your booking will be cancelled to protect the schedule of the other attendees.
In the event of an unavoidable emergency (extreme hazardous weather, medical complications, etc.), you will receive a full refund.
What Should I Bring?
Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing that you can easily move in, a camera to snap memories, and reliable, comfortable walking shoes. Bringing a personal water bottle along is highly recommended.
What if it Rains?
This is the Pacific Northwest! If you are okay with walking in a standard light rain, we will absolutely proceed with the tour. However, if you would prefer not to brave the rain, just let us know ahead of time and you will be completely eligible for a full refund.
Where Does the Tour Start & End?
Our classic historic walks start and end directly at NEKO: A Cat Cafe, located at 519 E Pine St, Seattle, WA 98122. Be sure to double-check your booking confirmation email, as select custom routes may kick off from other iconic hubs like the stadium district or the KEXP cafe area.
Can I Bring my Child?
Absolutely! Children can be accommodated easily and our tour storytelling style can be personalized to suit younger imaginations. Just drop us a line via our contact page before booking so we can coordinate and set things up perfectly for your family.
Can I Bring my Pet?
Our tours are completely pet-friendly! Your animal companion is expected to be healthy, non-disruptive, and kept safely under control at all times. Note that animals are generally not allowed inside the indoor food/beverage meeting spaces (like the cafe interiors), but you can easily wait outside with them for the tour to step off. To guarantee comfort for everyone, if other independent guests are booked onto your same shared tour slot, we will quickly check with them for a green light first.
